Our workplaces are taking off - but to where? Hands-on with new evolutionizing practices

Conversations around purpose and happiness at work are in focus these days. But where is this evolution taking us?

In this talk, Line Mørkbak will share her findings from her project LEAP Laboratory, and focus on what trends she has found through interviewing and working with changemakers. During the past year, Line has worked closely with individuals and organizations who are experimenting with different ways of thinking workplace structures and collaboration. The goal of LEAP Lab is to learn from workplace experiments currently being undertaken by forward-thinking organizations around the globe.

In her talk we will learn about the value of cross-pollinating ideas and what can be gained from learning through constant discovery. Teal Organization, self-organization, remote first, and holacracy can become empty buzz words, but the talk will shed light on how these ideas materialize themselves in day-to-day work practices. And more than that - how these new practices are evolutionizing our workplaces.

Product management:

How to achieve product-market fit faster

There’s an element of age old sibling rivalry between design and product management.

Designers love to complain about PMs. And PMs love to complain about designers. But it's only because they're siblings in the product development process. The best PMs can think like a designer and visa versa.

Indeed, the best product management is good user experience.

This talk will explore the intersection of PM and Design, and how together we can achieve product-market fit faster by amplifying each other’s super powers instead of fighting each other.

Transforming into a product-led organization: learnings from the field

Everyone is talking about practicing “agile” and “lean”. We have so much focus on the “transformations” organizations are going through or attempting to go through, but what does “transformation” really entail? What does this look like at large enterprises, and what does success look like?

How do these transformations actually translate into building great products, and establishing a product-centered culture?

Join us for an interactive discussion as we dive into some of the challenges, wins, and lessons learned from our firsthand experiences being in the middle of these transformations at Capital One and beyond.

Culture & Change:

Managing constant reorganizations while maintaining the culture and identity of your team

In this closing session, Maria Mendez from Spotify will talk about one of the true challenges in a modern workplace that is always changing.

With the new reorganizations starting before the dust has settled on the last sweeping company revamp, how do we keep a healthy company culture and feeling of belonging in your team?

In the session we’ll discuss the role of leadership in codifying values, taking an honest look at culture and fostering trust and resilience in the team.

3.30 pm - 4.30 pm

Modern Workplace:

Mixed Messages, Competing Priorities and Disjointed Feedback – Addressing Paradox in Culture Change

We’ll look at dynamic tensions that become evident when driving culture change in an organization. What happens when strategies, feedback and messages are logical by themselves but when you put them together they don’t quite make sense?

How do these paradoxes impact the values and beliefs in an organization and what can you do about it?

Kim will provide a peek into some learnings she uncovered while working on global culture change at Pfizer and how to take steps to move past a co-existence of opposites.

You’ll have most of this session to leverage the great minds in the room to discuss any dynamic tensions you see in your organization’s culture and get peer feedback on how you can work past these observable tensions.

Product Management:

Product Management at the Edge

The challenges of product management have always included a need for consensus building, negotiation, and championing the voice of the customer. When your product is part of a larger platform or product ecosystem, navigating these taxing currents requires new strategies and a broader worldview. We will discuss how managing the edges of your product’s fit within a broader platform is vital to keeping the core intact, and how PMs benefit from tackling these issues head-on.
